What is a title sequence?:

  • the beginning of a plan
  • tells us who's in it & who has made it (owners)
  • Can give information about the film we are to watch
  • Fills in any gaps
  • Sets the tone and location of a film- maes the audience excited & want to watch.
  • Transport as: suspends disbelief
What makes a good title sequence?:
  • Suspends disbelief
  • Sets the tone of film- place/location/genre
  • establishes characters & plot
  • Piece of art in its own right 
  • Signifies of contemporary culture
  • Iconic and original = memorable 
  • Connects seamlessly into the main body of a film
